When it comes to food, we’re big city people with small town dreams. Sure, we’ve got farmers markets and farm shares, but our one holiday wish would be to enjoy the bounty from our own farm—chock full of the freshest ingredients, locally harvested and ready to dazzle our foodie guests at a moment’s notice. (We also jump at any opportunity to play hostess.)

Apparently we’re not the only ones. The chefs and gardeners at Blackberry Farm—a 4,200-acre renowned luxury hotel, restaurant and farm getaway in Walland, Tennessee—were inspired to create this FarmStead artisanal food set based on the many requests from visitors who wanted an authentic piece of the earth-to-table experience to take back to their homes. One of those visitors being acclaimed chef Daniel Boulud, who is still raving about a trip he made to the farm this past summer.

“I was seduced by every corner of this hotel with its very own farm in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains,” said Boulud. “These gift baskets reflect everything I love about Blackberry Farm—homemade cheeses, jams, honeys, charcuterie, sauces and much more. You’ll really get a taste of what makes the place so very special.”

In this AHAlife set, we’re offering some of the best picks from the artisans and farmers committed to Blackberry’s sustainable and responsible farming methods. An instant-favorite is the selection of their cult favorite jams—Winter Jam, made of dried figs, apricots, raisins, cherries, dates and cranberries simmered with Pritchard Rum, Reserve Black Raspberry Jam made from hand-picked raspberries and Wildflower Honey, a light and delicate honey from the local honeybees. Enjoy with three aged, artisanal cheeses—Singing Brook Cheese, made from aged sheep’s milk, Blackberry Blue Cheese, an earthy blue cheese made at the end of the milking season when milk is the richest, and Pimento Cheese, a Singing Brook and cheddar cheese blend with Spanish roasted red pimento peppers.

Also included is the Finocchiona Salumi, made of finely ground pork laced with white wine and fennel, and the Salume Toscano, a coarsely ground pork smothered with salt, spices, red wine, garlic and red pepper.

Though each is divine individually, all items in this set are perfect for serving together, making it the ideal holiday spread—fresh off the farm.
