About ALTAIA

In the wild lands of 19th-century South America, 2 different families crossed paths. Their encounter helped shape the future of modern-day Argentina. General Bartolomè Mitre, a statesman and man of letters, became unified Argentina’s first President in 1862. An early presidential decree opened the country to foreign investment, hoping to build a railway system to unify the country. Charles + Walter Morrison's father, James Morrison, came from humble origins to become England’s most notable entrepreneur. The brothers later invested in Argentina's railway system and more, fueling Argentina's industrial development.
