Designer Manuel Desrochers was inspired after he read the writings of Austrian naturalist Viktor Schauberger, who stated that the egg is the best shape for water storage due to the way it allows the liquid to circulate. Desrocher's later research revealed that porcelain's thermal properties make it an ideal material for preserving water. In a eureka moment, the Ovopur was born.
