Toast makes lightweight wooden skins for the iPhone 4/4S and 5 that protect and personalize without adding unnecessary bulk. Toast calls these svelte cases "veneers," but we call them magical. The company was founded by Matias Brecher, a former furniture maker, in order to bring the virtues of woodworking and made-by-hand craftsmanship to the world of consumer electronics. Getting its start through a successful Kickstarter campaign, the Portland, Oregon-based company is also dedicated to sustainability: Toast donates one percent of all sales to non-profits that work to restore, protect and create a healthy planet. Toast also uses only renewable energy sources during production.
