"Each piece should be beautiful, functional and represent your personal style. I am glad that I am now able to create these beautiful pieces not just for my friends and family but for everyone," Monkey Business Press founder Keetgi Kogan told us. Indeed, the former film producer and party planner had been making stationery by hand for friends and family for years before studying letterpress under Gerald Lange (considered by many to be the finest letterpress printer in the country) at the Otis College of Design. Using a Vandercook SP-20 cylinder proof-press from the '60s, every Monkey Business Press piece is crafted individually by hand. Kogan also hand-mixes her own inks and cranks the letterpress by hand while she prints. And with a nod to a sustainable future, the Monkey Business Press uses only 100 percent tree-free cotton paper and environmentally-friendly, soy-based inks for all of its fine letterpress printing.
