Holly McWhorter and Bjarke Ballisager of the Brooklyn-based design studio PLANT share a passion for green design practices, social responsibility, giving work to underemployed populations, and modern Scandinavian aesthetics, all of which are evident in their quirkily cool wares. Take their USDA-certified organic spice kits, which are perfect for adding flavor on the fly (no more tasteless takeout!). The kits are packaged in recyclable BPA-free plastic and post-consumer recycled paperboard and are assembled by a team of adults with physical and medical disabilities.
