Sometimes all you need is a change of scene to see things clearly. That’s what happened when Daniele Semeraro, the founder of Sempli, moved from Sweden to Florence, Italy and discovered the joy of drinking wine. As part of his new discovery, he realized that the wine glass’ stem was superfluous from both an aesthetic and technical point of view. Designing a glass that didn’t have one became his mission: Thus was born the Cupa series of glasses. Created by traditionally trained Italian glass blowers, these amusing and practical glasses are 100 percent sustainable as well as a whole lot of fun.
