Rachel Dooley didn't necessarily plan on becoming a big name designer—in fact, she studied mechanical engineering at Michigan and law at Fordham University's law school. While taking a break from studying for the New York Bar Exam, Rachel made her first mixed-metal necklace from vintage and industrial materials. And like some light magic, Gemma Redux was born. Within months Rachel’s designs were appearing in publications such as Harper’s BAZAAR, WWD, Cosmopolitan, Glamour and Zink. Since those early days, Gemma Redux has emerged as something akin to some jewelry maker wunderkind, even being selected for the inaugural class of the the prestigious CFDA Design Incubator Program.
