Zalto was founded by an Austrian family that has been producing exceptional glass for six generations. To create these technically perfect wine and beer glasses, they partnered with fellow countryman and chef sommelier at Le Bernardin, Aldo Sohm, who earned the “Best Sommelier in the World” title in 2008. These elegant glasses are feather-light, incredibly strong (you can actually put them in the dishwasher), lead-oxide free and resistant to clouding. And most interestingly, the angles of their bowls are tilted to 24, 48 and 72 degrees, corresponding to the tilt angles of the earth. The Romans used these measurements in constructing their storage houses, finding that it resulted in produce that lasted longer and tasted better.
