Though you would think that cool sunglasses would be designed in Los Angeles or some similarly sunny locale, our newest find is based in distinctly cloudy Paris. Waiting For The Sun, or W/SÜN, as these ultra stylish specs are called, gets its name from that city’s often gray skies (well, that and the W/SÜN team’s Jim Morrison obsession).
The idea behind the line is to reinvent the basics, a concept that W/SÜN has taken and run with. We're offering aviators in two finishes, either natural (light) or vintage (dark), which represent re-imagined, re-worked and unisex modern versions of a classic style. The 27.2 g, the aviator, sits slightly larger on the face, and comes with a small silver detail in the front.
Like all W/SÜN styles, they’re handmade from ultra light, renewable tea tree wood that’s hand-painted and coated for water-resistance, making them both comfortable and durable. As far as shading your eyes from the sun, the Carl Zeiss lenses provide the maximum protection available, including ultra-violet ray protection level three. And to keep quality levels extra-high, all materials are tested and subjected to strict quality controls.
That’s the glasses; then there’s the packaging. Each pair is wrapped in an artist-designed, limited-edition hand screen printed, one-hundred percent cotton scarf—only 500 copies of each print is made—then placed in a triangular cardboard box that unfolds flat for easy recycling. Stylish from start to finish—we like that.
